Week 2  16 January   Storm in the Sahara (30 min)
Documentary on the struggle for liberation in Western Sahara. 

Week 3 23 January   Shake hands with the devil (90 min)
Documentary focussing on experiences of Romeo Dallaire in charge of the UN forces in Rwanda in 1994.

Week 4 30 January  Darwin's nightmare
Documentary about the effect of the introduction of Nile Perch into Lake Victoria, and the multi-national industry it has spawned.

Week 5    6 February Blood Diamonds (1hr)
Historical look at the impact of diamond mining in Africa.

Week 6 13 February  Cuba! Africa! Revolution! Part 1
Documentary about Cuba's involvement with African Liberation Movements

Week 7 20 February How to get ahead in Africa (1hr)
Dispatches provides a sober portrait of how modern Africa really  works, where the voiceless millions, living in poverty, have had their  futures stolen by their corrupt governments, aided and abetted by the West.

Documentary about Cuba's involvement with African Liberation Movements

Week 9 5 March Great African Scandal (1 hr)
Documentary, made with the help of Christian Aid, academic Robert Beckford undertakes a challenging, emotional  journey to Ghana in West Africa to discover the hidden costs of rice, chocolate and gold.

Twelve disciples of Nelson Mandela 
   (74 minutes)
Award-winning drama-documentary about 12 young men left their homes in Bloemfontein and told the world about the brutality of the apartheid system and raised support for the fledgling African National Congress and its leader, Nelson Mandela

Law and Freedom Parts 1 and 2  (96 min total)
Part 1: Who was Mrs Khomani?    Documentary about the apartheid-era legal system – how the pass laws were dismantled.  (47 minutes); Part 2: A nice country!    Documentary about the post-1994 South African constitution, examining several important constitutional court cases.  (49 Minutes)
