Chair: Dr Chad Damro (Edinburgh, PIR)

Prof Parsons will discuss his forthcoming book on methods in social science—quantitative, qualitative, experimental, simulative and interpretive—and show that these methods are effectively employed in many careers outside academia as well.

Prof Parsons' talk runs 3-4pm, and will be followed by a panel and Q&A from 4-5pm on career trajectories with a PhD in politics, including strategies for securing employment in and out of academia. Panelists include:
