Eve Hepburn Wins Grant to Advise on Sardinia's Constitution

Dr Eve Hepburn and Dr Michael Rosie win Italian research grant to help re-write Sardinian Special Statute (constitutional law)

Dr Eve Hepburn (PIR) and Dr Michael Rosie (Sociology) have been awarded a research grant from the Sardinian Regional Government to collaborate with a group of academic resesearchers from the Faculty of Law, University of Cagliari, led by Professor Gianmario Demuro. The two-year project is entitled 'Speciality and Differentiation in Sardinia: an interdisciplinary and comparative study on institutions, identity and rights'. The main objective is to propose a number of guidelines for re-writing the Special Statute (constititutional treaty) of Sardinia, based on comparative research with Scotland, Catalonia and other stateless nations and regions. The study - which is based on research surveys, interviews and legal/social science analysis - will commence in September 2010 and concludes with an international conference in Sardinia in 2012.
