Professor Barry Rabe to visit Politics IR/ Europa Institute

Barry Rabe, Professor of Public Policy at the University of Michigan and Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, arrives in Edinburgh in late September to discuss his on-going work on climate change governance.

Prof Rabe is a world expert on US climate change policy, especially the role of state and regional initiatives to reduce greenhouse gases.  He has written also on US renewable energy politics, environmental federalism and the role of public opinion on climate, energy and environmental protection.

During his stay Prof Rabe will give a public lecture examining the role of the US Congress and US states, public opinion, transatlantic comparisons, and more general prospects for climate change governance under an Obama Administration.  The lecture will be held Wed., 29 Sept, 6pm, Lecture Theatre 175, Old College, South Bridge.    All are welcome.

Barry’s visit has been arranged by Dr Bomberg (PIR) and is supported by the Europa Institute as part of their Seminar Series on Climate Change and Global Environmental Governance’ seminar series.  See:
