Elizabeth Bomberg on BBC Radio 4
PIR Senior Lecturer on "Today" to comment on Obama's second inaugural
Dr Elizabeth Bomberg has appeared on BBC Radio 4's 'Today' programme to comment on President Barack Obama's second inaugural speech.
Elizabeth observed that the speech was unapologetic in its progressive tone, pointing out that President Obama may well have learned from his first term in office, where constant tension between a Democratic White House and a Republican Congress often lead to gridlock and sclerosis. Stepping back from the speech Elizabeth also commented on the need for the President to work with Republicans in Congress to accomplish his goals in a second term.
Elizabeth Bomberg is Senior Lecturer in Politics & International Relations at the University of Edinburgh. Elizabeth's current research interests include comparative environmental politics and policy, energy and climate change, sustainable development, and US and EU politics.
