Free Online Course on the EU Referendum

The University of Edinburgh, in association with FutureLearn, is offering a free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for anyone interested in learning about the referendum and the issues.

The University of Edinburgh, in association with FutureLearn, is offering a free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for anyone interested in learning about the referendum and the issues.

Towards Brexit? The UK’s EU Referendum (http://edin.ac/1sj0LX0) is a three-week course that guides participants through the referendum – before and after the vote. The course looks at the how the UK ended up having a referendum on EU membership, the campaign issues, public opinion and alternatives to being in the EU. In the final week, the course reflects on the result and what it means for the UK and the rest of Europe.

The course is run by Anthony Salamone, Prof Laura Cram, Prof Charlie Jeffery from Politics and International Relations.

It is the latest in a series of politics MOOCs from PIR and Online Learning. Previous courses have looked at the Scottish independence referendum, the 2015 UK general election and the 2016 Scottish and Welsh devolved elections.

The course begins on 13 June 2016.
