PIR staff stirs the pot on Aleppo and International Human Rights law

Nicola Perugini and Neve Gordon's recent blog over at Just Security made strong points about the why International Human Rights law was partly to blame in the ongoing bombing of Syrian civilians, especially in Aleppo. Not surprisingly, it also engendered some vigorous responses, which can be read here, here, and here. The whole exchange is well worth a read and highlights some of the thornier issues surrounding the role and power of IHR law in protecting civilians during violent conflict.
