Edinburgh Politics/IR student wins EU essay prize

Edinburgh student Daniel Kenealy recently won a Scotland-wide competition to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.


Daniel Kenealy’s essay was part of an initiative sponsored by the European Parliament and designed both to mark the Treaty of Rome which established the forerunner of today’s EU and the 40th anniversary of the University of Edinburgh’s Europa Institute. Daniel’s essay was on ‘Competing Interests? Scottish Nationalism and the Strengthening of the European Parliament’. He received his prize from the Principal of the University of Edinburgh, Professor Timothy O’Shea.
