Fully-Funded PhD Studentships Available

in EU external action via the EXACT training network

Edinburgh Politics and IR are delighted to be part of EXACT, an EU-funded Marie Curie international training network.  We now invite applications for 12 fully-funded (3 years) PhD studentships on subjects related to EU external action. 

The successful applicants will have the opportunity to:

•    Receive research training from a European team of universities – the Universities of Cologne, Edinburgh and Charles University (Prague) – and think tanks;

•    Gain practical experience of professional policy analysis at 2 European think tanks preoccupied with EU foreign policy;

•    Have the possibility of contributing to MERCURY, a 3 year, €2 million research project into the EU and multilateralism, which Edinburgh leads but which includes Cologne, Charles and 5 other institutional partners;

•    Pursue a bi-national (‘co-tutelle’) PhD issued by 2 universities.

The primary host institution for the 12 PhD studentships will be as follows: 

Edinburgh = 5; Cologne = 5; Charles = 2.
