PIR to join team of European researchers exploring the role of science in immigration policy
Christina Boswell is part of a team of European researchers who have been awarded Volkswagen Foundation funding to work on the role of research in immigration policy.
The project, entitled "Science-Society Dialogues on Immigrant Integration in Europe", will analyse the changing role of science in informing integration policies. The authority of research on integration and inter-ethnic relations is being increasingly questioned, with policy-makers and the media articulating doubts about its relevance, impartiality and rigour. The project will explore the implications of this reflexivity for research-policy relations in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, the UK and the European Commission, with Edinburgh covering the UK case. The project is being led by researchers at the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
