New Politics Professor
Dr Fiona Mackay has been awarded a personal Chair of Politics
Fiona, who joined the Politics department in 1997, teaches and writes about women, gender, and politics.
Current projects include a study of the UN's new entity for gender equality UN Women, and a series of workshops designed to highlight women's voices and gender perspectives in constitutional debates in the run up to the 2014 Scottish Independence referendum.
Fiona is outgoing Director of the Graduate School of Social and Political Science. She is founder and co-director of the feminism and institutionalism international network (www.femfiin.com ). She also convenes the University of Edinburgh Gender and Politics research group which hosts the "genderpol" blog (http://genderpoliticsatedinburgh.wordpress.com )
