AHRC Grant: Faith-based activism & climate change

Bomberg awarded grant to study faith-based activism and climate change

Elizabeth Bomberg has been awarded a 3 year AHRC grant to study faith-based activism and climate change.  She will form part of an multi-disciplinary team including researchers from Divinity, Economics, Geography, Philosophy and Politics.  The £800,000 project ‘Caring for the Future Through Ancestral Time’ will compare the temporality of ancestral or ‘spiritual’ time (in particular how faith based groups view the relationship between the past and future) with the dominant short-term temporalities of economic discounting and secular apocalyptic catastrophism. The grant includes a PhD studentship to be supervised by Bomberg (Politics) and Franklin Ginn (Geography).
