Andrew Neal gives talk to Scottish Parliament staff

PIR lecturer presented on the implications of Scottish independence for security governance

On 14 February,  Andrew Neal gave an overview outlining the implications and practicalities for security governance in the event of independence, of the Scottish government seeking to create its own security governance capacity to mirror that of the rest of the UK, or alternatively pursuing capacity sharing and policy coordination with the RUK.

In particular, he focused on parliamentary oversight arrangements, based on his current research on parliamentary security politics at Westminster.
