Bomberg at workshop on shale gas governance

Bomberg contributes to a US National Research Council Workshop in Washington, DC

Elizabeth Bomberg was an invited contributor to a US federal workshop on Shale Gas Governance in Washington DC.  The workshop, commissioned by the US National Resource Council, brought together policy analysts and practitioners to explore the governance of shale extraction, and offer insights that can inform policymakers in this burgeoning area. Elizabeth’s comparative presentation focused on the European Union’s more reluctant approach to shale and the principles (precaution, transparency, consultation, sustainability) underlying that approach.  The full paper and slides are available here.
