ESRC studentships available

Politics & IR encourage applications for prestigious PhD studentships

If you wish to study for a PhD in Politics & International Relations then you may wish to be considered for prestigious ESRC studentships, offered through the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science - Scotland's Doctoral Training Centre (SGS-DTC).

The SGS-DTC governs ESRC studentships in Scotland. Politics & International Relations is one of its 24 academic pathways. It comprises the Universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and St. Andrews. Please note that if you wish to be considered for an ESRC studentship in Politics & IR at Edinburgh then you cannot also be considered by Glasgow or St. Andrews.

All students interested in being nominated for an ESRC studentship should contact their prospective supervisor and either Dr. Sean Molloy (Director of Postgraduate Research Admissions) or Dr. Juliet Kaarbo (Postgraduate Adviser).

Applicants wishing to be considered for ESRC studentships should ensure they have submitted a complete application for admission by 5 February 2013.

A team of our faculty will then meet to assess candidates and decide who to nominate for ESRC studentships. We will communicate this decision as quickly as possible and successful students must then register and complete their applications through the SGS-DTC website.
