12 November 2015
Meryl Kenny and Fiona Mackay are invited speakers at an upcoming conference on 'Who runs the world? Women's representation in public life' taking place on 12 November in Edinburgh.
Organized by the cross-party Women 5050 campaign, working with Engender, this is the first national conference on women’s political representation in Scotland.
Dr. Kenny is leading a workshop at the conference on the topic of ‘How quotas work and why they matter’, which will explore the academic evidence behind gender quotas and bust myths about meritocracy and representation.
Keynote speakers include First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Professor Drude Dahlerup (Stockholm University and Global Quota Project). More details available here: http://www.engender.org.uk/content/events/42-who-runs-the-world-womens-representation-in-public-life/
