Congratulations to Victor for being awarded with the Consular Corps in Edinburgh and Leith and University of Edinburgh Scholarship.
This award is made to a current student of the University of Edinburgh who has produced a notable piece of coursework or research which looks at the area of international relations. Students studying within the fields of cultures, education, law, international relations, history, politics, and economics may be considered. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognise the work of a postgraduate student at the University in terms of their contribution to research in this important area. The annual scholarship, is jointly awarded by the University of Edinburgh and the Consular Corps in Edinburgh and Leith.
Victor was nominated by his primary supervisor, Professor Juliet Kaarbo, for a piece of research that he produced and published, in the field of international relations. It was Victor's doctoral research, on European small states’ participation in international peacekeeping missions, which investigates how small states’ commitments and approaches to peacekeeping have evolved as a result of the changing nature of peacekeeping missions, which impressed the selection panel.
The award is worth £1,000 and will be presented at the University’s Bursary Graduation Reception.
