Philip Cook - Bring Back Child Labour!

Edinburgh political theorist challeneges several assumptions about child labour at Edinburgh Fringe

Philip Cook from PIR is performing at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, arguing we should ‘Bring Back Child Labour!’. Philip is a lecturer in Political Theory and works on children and social justice. He will be challenging common assumptions that we should abolish child labour, arguing that this disempowers and infantilises children. He thinks we should promote good work for children as this can be empowering and can help liberate them from dependence on others. Philip has a short talk about his show here and has been featured recently in the Evening News

His live show takes place on 4th August 8.20pm at the New Town Theatre, tickets are available here.
