Fiona Mackay at 2011 Festival of Politics

Fiona Mackay (Politics and IR) will chair a panel on August 25 as part of the 2011 Festival of Politics at the Scottish Parliament.

Panellists Nan Sloane, Director of the Centre for Women & Democracy; Sarah Boyack MSP; Clare Adamson MSP; and Liberal Democrat candidate, Katy Gordon join Fiona to debate "Has the time come for quotas to achieve gender balance in our Parliament?".

Organised by Engender and Women into Public Life (funded by the EU Regional Development Fund), the idea for the event was sparked by the recent report written by Fiona and Meryl Kenny on trends in political recruitment after the 2011 Scottish parliament elections.

Date: August 25,11:00 - 12:00. Venue: Room P1.02, Scottish Parliament. Tickets FREE. More information at http://www.festivalofpolitics.org.uk/day5.htm
