Shaun Bevan is Senior Lecturer in Quantitative Political Science at the University of Edinburgh, an External Fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) at the University of Mannheim and is Topic Coding Coordinator for the Comparative Agendas Project (www.comparativeagendas.info) in charge of creating a common Master Codebook across projects.
Shaun received his Ph.D. in political science from The Pennsylvania State University in August 2011. He has previously worked as a research follow at the University of Mannheim and as a research associate at the University of Manchester managing the UK Policy Agenda Project (www.policyagendas.org.uk) which he remains actively involoved in through continued research including his new book Policy Agendas in British Politics (with Peter John, Anthony Bertelli and Will Jennings). He has also worked as a technical adviser for the Pennsylvania Policy Database Project (www.temple.edu/papolicy) and as a research assistant while at Penn State managing the Encyclopedia of Associations Project a recently released extension of the US Policy Agendas Project (www.policyagendas.org) that tracks national level voluntary associations in the United States in a panel data set from 1970-2005.
Shaun's research interests focus on American, British and Comparative Politics, as well as Political Methodology. Some of his specific interests include agenda-setting, public policy, interest groups, public opinion, time series analysis, event history analysis and measurement. His work has appeared in such journals as Comparative Political Studies, the European Journal of Political Research, the European Political Science Review, the Journal of European Public Policy, Political Research Quarterly, Policy Studies Journal and Public Administration.

Shaun is interested in students doing UK, US and/or Comparative work on, Agenda-setting, Public Policy, Interest Groups, Political Institutions and Political Behavior, particularly related to Public Opinion. He is also interested in projects focused on using dynamic, time series data.
