Adaptive Identity:  British Military Training and Mentoring in Iraq

Research Interests

I'm interested in the role of identity construction, both personal and institutional, in the adaptation of armed forces to the changing operating environments they find themselves in.  In particular I'm looking at British military contribution to the training and mentoring programmes which aim to reconstruct and strengthen the Iraqi security forces, and the ways in which the practices of training and mentoring influence the construction and expression of identities within the involved parties.
