Strategy

Our aim is to produce research at the highest international standards, consolidating our position as one of the leading international locations for research on multilevel governance, European integration and global politics. At the same time, we aim to foster innovative research on a diversity of themes, through supporting research clusters and networks.

To support these goals, we provide the following structures:

  • Mentoring and expert support for staff and fellows in developing individual research plans, targeting top publication outlets, and developing funding bids.
  • A vibrant research environment, with a range of research institutes, groups and seminars to foster collaboration and networks.
  • Ring-fenced research time for staff, including a weekly research day and generous sabbatical entitlement.
  • A lively community of PhD and postdoctoral researchers, who play a central role in our research through their involvement in research institutes, research groups and events.

Our research strategy is overseen by the PIR Research Director, Dr. Christina Boswell, working closely with the School Research Director and Research Committee.
