Biographical Statement

Ronnie Irving was Lecturer in Department of Politics,1969-82; Reader,1982-2001; and has been an Honorary Fellow since 2001. His main area of interest is Western European politics. His publications include four books Christian Democracy in France (1973); The First Indochina War: French and American Policy in Vietnam, 1945-54 (1975); The Christian Democratic Parties of Western Europe (1979; p/b ed.1980); Adenauer (2002). In addition, he has contributed books and articles on Western European parties and elections.
